Board of Education, Student Representative
Term: Jan. 2018 - Jan. 2019  |  At Large

In reflecting on his new role, Jaeger said, “I believe strongly students are our most important stakeholders. My goal is to make sure we have a say in the decisions that affect us.” He also said he has a passion for policy, which he brings to his experiences as a leader both in and out of school. As a well-respected member of the MPS Citywide Student Leadership Board, he has shown an unwavering level of dedication and deep commitment to advancing student voice. Outside of school, Jaeger serves on the Board of Directors of the Southdale YMCA and previously served as Senate President at Youth in Government through the Twin Cities YMCA.

Roosevelt staff describe Jaeger as a leader in their learning community. Roosevelt Principal Michael Bradley echoes this sentiment: “Ben will strive to lift up not just one voice, but the voices of all Minneapolis Public Schools youth,” he said. “He brings a well-rounded perspective to every situation he encounters.”

The Student Representative provides an important perspective and gives voice to those at the heart of the district’s work: MPS students. The Board of Education has appointed a student representative since 2015.
